On Top of the World (not Candler Hills, Indigo East, or Weybourne Landing) offers leasehold estates, meaning you don’t own the land. You sign a 99-year lease when you purchase there (also known as a leasehold estate). When you sell, the new owner gets the balance of the lease. Part of your HOA fee provides lawn care.
What happens after the 99 years on the lease in On Top of the World?
OTOW will renew the lease is the current assumption by residents.
Why did they lease the land and not sell it at On Top of the World Ocala?
OTOW wanted access to the property for maintenance, such as landscaping, painting, and repairs. The leasehold estate gave them this permission when things were first going.
